What materials are moldings made from?

Moldings are manufactured from polyurethane, polystyrene, PVC, duropolymer, and synthetic rubber. Polyurethane and duropolymer moldings offer the best resistance to moisture and mechanical damage. Synthetic rubber moldings are flexible and suitable for curved surfaces.

Where are moldings used?

Moldings are used to decorate walls and ceilings, and to frame doors, fireplaces, mirrors, windows, and artwork. They highlight architectural details, conceal joints between different surfaces, and give rooms a finished, polished look.

What are flexible (flex) moldings?

Flexible moldings are made from synthetic rubber — they bend easily to follow any curved surface such as arches, columns, and rounded walls. They are installed the same way as standard moldings but are designed for non-standard architectural shapes.

How are moldings installed?

Moldings are attached with construction adhesive or liquid nails to a prepared surface. Joints are filled and sanded smooth. After installation, moldings are typically painted to match the wall or ceiling color.

Can moldings be painted?

Yes, all types of moldings can be painted with acrylic or water-based paint in any color. Applying a coat of primer before painting is recommended for better adhesion. This allows the molding to blend perfectly with the room decor.

What sizes are available for moldings?

Molding height ranges from 1.5 to 7 cm, width from 0.8 to 7 cm, and standard length is 200–244 cm. To calculate the quantity needed, measure the perimeter of the wall or the length of the installation area.
