WHICH BASES ARE SUITABLE FOR IXPE FLOORING

Important: the self-adhesive layer does not replace base preparation. Dust, dirt, grease, peeling coatings, and moisture can reduce the quality of adhesion between the material and the surface.

Yes, the material can be used to update an existing floor covering if it is securely fixed, clean, dry, and suitable as a base. IXPE flooring may be installed over linoleum, laminate, parquet, and other suitable surfaces.

Before installation, the old floor must be inspected. Loose areas, dirt, grease stains, dust, and other defects should be removed. The base must not have any areas that move or are peeling away.

IXPE FLOORING STRUCTURE

The flooring consists of several functional layers, each of which performs its own task.

1. PROTECTIVE POLYMER LAYER WITH UF PROTECTION

The top protective layer protects the decorative surface from everyday impacts, scuffing, and minor mechanical damage. UF protection helps preserve the original appearance and color of the flooring for longer.

2. DECORATIVE LAYER

3. MAIN IXPE LAYER

5. PROTECTIVE FILM

HOW TO INSTALL SELF-ADHESIVE IXPE FLOORING

The flooring is installed in several stages.

1. Prepare the base. Remove dust, dirt, grease, and other contaminants.
2. Make sure the surface is dry, clean, and smooth.
3. When working with a porous base, apply primer and allow it to dry completely, but for no less than 4 hours.
4. If there is whitewash on the surface, remove it and prime the base.
5. Before installation, allow the material and the surface to reach room temperature.
6. Take the necessary measurements and cut the flooring to the size of the room.
7. Start installation from a corner.
8. Gradually remove the protective film from the adhesive layer.
9. At the same time, press the flooring onto the base, proceeding gradually.
10. Smooth the surface by hand or with a rubber roller to ensure even adhesion.
11. Make sure that no air bubbles remain under the material and that no folds form.

It is not recommended to remove the entire protective film at once and attempt to adhere a large section of the flooring in one piece. Gradually removing the protective layer allows better control over the position of the material and reduces the risk of bubbles and folds.

HOW TO CUT IXPE FLOORING

The material is easy to adapt to the dimensions of the room. Scissors or a utility knife can be used for cutting. Before cutting, it is recommended to take accurate measurements and determine in advance the locations of joints, corners, projections, and other room elements.

TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS

The flooring can be used under typical indoor operating conditions. The recommended temperature range is 0 °C to 45 °C.

For high-quality installation, the material and the base must be brought to room temperature. This helps ensure optimal adhesion of the self-adhesive layer to the surface.

CARE FOR IXPE FLOORING

The flooring does not require special professional cleaning products. Regular wet cleaning with suitable mild detergents is sufficient to remove ordinary household dirt.
